"All your knowledge is for nothing,
means nothing in a war where reason is ruled by imagination,
where imagination is obscured by feelings,
means nothing in a war where reason is ruled by imagination,
where imagination is obscured by feelings,
and feelings are governed by writing !"
Alexander Dumas
The Circle of Words
Do you imagine a world where the tragedy of Romeo
and Juliet would be ‘cause Paris massacre both of them in their wedding?
Where Edgar Allan Poe was the writter of love poems
and criminal investigations?
Where Gustave Adolf Becquer had never written Rhymes
and Legends, but a book called Dracula?
Where Dumas was a mythological writer and Victor
Hugo a playwright from the medieval era?
A
place where all the fantasy and epic novels were never really written? Where
the Grimm brothers wrote church resumes and convent legends instead of
fairytales? Where Nietzche was the one who caused a rebellion for his novel
called Utopia?
This is the world where Naiara lives, a single land where the knowledge of the real story of each one
of the books edited and stokclisted by the Worldwide United Governments, three
hundred years before called the United Nations, is punished with death and
mutilation. Implying that there are more books than the one thousand in
existence all around the planet is intolerable and punished with public
flagellation.
The world lives in the ignorance of the past facts of the nations, the
writers were murdered one by one when it was discovered that they revealed governmental
data in their scripts on an encrypted manner among the pages. There are no more
writers on the world, either sufficient creativity to imagine new horizons and
create whole new stories, ‘cause if anybody tries to write one is kidnapped
without anyone to question where they have gone. Ignorance is the best
knowledge of all.
But this isn’t enough for Naiara, she feels that there’s something more behind “The Insufferables” of
Victor Hugo and embarks on a search that will lead her straight to the antique
library of Alexandria and to the immersion of a world five hundred years in
oblivion under the deep shadows of the earth, where the scrolls and books
edited in the late years suffered a sleepy lethargic that will only be awakened
if she allies with Alexander Dumas and Julius Verne, discovering during their
worthy adventure that she is the heir of an ancient knowledge that has passed
between authors since ancient and forgettable times. Since the Mio Cid to Anne
Rice, from Shakespeare to Weiss and Hickman, they will be immersed on a series
of mythological runes that were printed even before the medieval times simply
for being descendant of a famous writer called Virginia Woolf.
